MONTEREY, CA - October 29, 2020 - LanguageLine Solutions, the global leader in on-demand language access, has announced significant upgrades to its groundbreaking video-remote interpreting platform. The improvements will expand access to the industry’s preeminent team of more than 13,000 professional interpreters.
The LanguageLine app, also known as InSight, delivers video interpreting in 41 languages. LanguageLine has added Portuguese to the list of now 10 languages that are available on-demand 24 hours a day, seven days a week. (The others are American Sign Language, Arabic, Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.) These 10 languages comprise more than 90 percent of all video-language requests.
The company has also expanded access to five other languages – Amharic, Armenian, Bosnian, Romanian, and Swahili – all of which are now available from 5 a.m.-8 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday.

In addition to 41 video languages, LanguageLine also delivers on-demand access to 240 languages in an audio-only format. Both video and audio-only are supported by the world’s finest team of professional linguists.
No appointment is necessary to connect with LanguageLine’s on-demand interpreters. They are available via the touch of a button on the LanguageLine app, with video connections made in an average of 22 seconds. Audio-only connections are even faster at just 12 seconds. The average user rating for these calls is 4.7 out of a possible five stars.
The LanguageLine app can be used on tablets, smartphones, laptops, and desktops. LanguageLine has trail-blazed the area of mobile interpreting. With increasing frequency, the app has been deployed on mobile devices and used in the field by service workers, first responders, delivery people, and others.
LanguageLine interpreters are also available via video and audio for most virtual meeting platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and GoToMeeting.
