MONTEREY, CA – August 20, 2024 – LanguageLine Solutions, the world leader in language access and innovation, announced today that it has been Great Place to Work Certified for an unprecedented fifth consecutive year. The certification, based on an extensive employee survey and an in-depth culture evaluation, found that LanguageLine is especially inclusive, with a team that is particularly proud of their work.
Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviors needed to deliver market leadership and increased innovation. Great Place to Work oversaw the survey earlier in 2024, ensuring that responses were anonymous and confidential.
“Humanity is at the core of our mission,” LanguageLine President and CEO Scott W. Klein said. “Our team is the heart of our success, and it's incredibly gratifying to see their positive sentiment reflected in this recognition.”
A Great Place to Work Certification demonstrates to the market that a company is an employer of choice. It also helps businesses continuously build their culture by using reporting, analysis, and actionable steps.
The survey found that LanguageLine is an especially inclusive workplace, with more than 90% of employees stating that “people here are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation, race, gender, or age.”
The survey also found that LanguageLine employees take great pride in their work. More than 80% of LanguageLine employees agreed with the following statements:
- “Our customers would rate the service we provide as ‘excellent.’”
- “I feel I make a difference here.”
- “I’m proud to tell others I work here.”
- “My work has special meaning. This is not ‘just a job.’”
In these categories and others, LanguageLine’s scores were extraordinary relative to the Great Place to Work baseline. Employees also praised the company’s flexibility and work-from-home model.
“Our emphasis on diversity reflects the communities we serve,” Klein said. “With one in seven U.S. residents foreign-born and one in five households speaking a language other than English, a diverse workforce is essential.”
LanguageLine has continued to grow, recently handling more than a billion minutes of on-demand interpretation over a 12-month span. The company continues to add to its linguist roster, with the majority of these hires being racial and ethnic minorities. More than half have been women.
LanguageLine delivers professional interpretation in more than 240 languages, with translation of the written word in more than 400 language pairs.
"Our commitment to excellence is the driving force behind the 70 million interactions we facilitate each year," Klein said. "Our team is united by a shared vision: a world free of language and cultural barriers. I'm incredibly proud of the talent and dedication our team brings to this mission."
