Language Line Services Names rbb Public Relations as Agency of Record
Launches campaign to build awareness of benefits of serving limited English speakers
MONTEREY, CA — (February 23, 2006) — Language Line Services, the world's leading provider of over-the-phone language interpretation and document translation services, has named rbb Public Relations as its agency of record. rbb will provide strategic counsel, while coordinating media and public relations activities. Language Line Services serves organizations that need to communicate with their limited English speaking customers, patients and citizens by offering interpretation services in over 150 languages.
“Every 23 seconds, someone who speaks little if any English enters the U.S.” said Louis Provenzano, Sr. VP, Sales and Marketing. “Hospitals, banks, insurance companies and 911/emergency services find it increasingly difficult to meet all the language requirements of those they serve without outside support.”
Provenzano noted that the market opportunity for the language industry is estimated at approximately $1 billion and the current market penetration of 25% is evidence of a great need for an information campaign. As the dominant player in a growing industry lacking a trade association, the Language Line Services campaign will fill an informational void. The effort will help organizations better serve the growing number of ethnic customers, comply with increasing governmental and industry regulations to serve limited English speakers and provide criteria from which to choose an interpretation partner that meets their needs.
“rbb Public Relations demonstrated a strong understanding of our industry and has created a vertical media strategy to help us generate greater recognition of the category as a whole as well as help us reach out to the sectors that have the most need for our services,” said Provenzano.
“Language Line Services has a wealth of information and experience in a category that is growing exponentially and very often makes a difference between life and death,” added Christine Barney, CEO of rbb Public Relations. “We’re excited at the opportunity to generate more awareness of these important services to help organizations meet the needs of limited English speakers.”
Language Line Services expects to partner with clients in developing case studies and news stories to showcase the benefits of serving the limited English speakers market with effective language solutions. The communications program will be launched in March 2006.
