"Hi, my name is Tom Sterns and I work for Language Line Services headquartered in Monterey, California.

"The general nature of our business is we provide over-the-phone interpretation services from English into roughly 175 different languages.

"In addition to that service, Language Line provides a portfolio of language services from translation, American Sign Language via video conference, we also provide video interpretation.

"My role in the business is essentially as an R&D person. I look at new technologies and try to figure out how these can help us provide better service to our customer, as well as developing and managing a number of our core applications that connect our customers with our interpreters."
