General


Q: How do I apply?

A: You may complete an online application form and attach your resume to this form.


Q: What is the process and timeline?

A: We will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your application and resume. The hiring manager will review these documents.

You may be interviewed by telephone and be scheduled for a face-to-face interview at our corporate offices.

Timelines will vary based upon the positions, but may take anywhere from two to six weeks.


Q: Am I an employee or independent contractor?

A: You will be an employee of the company. Independent contractors are utilized from time to time on consultative basis but this is infrequent and is specifically project oriented.


Q: Are there career advancement opportunities?

A: Each department will offer a number of career advancement opportunities, and there are cross-functional learning and open position opportunities that are posted for all employees. Employees are notified of and supported in applying for positions of interest, advancement and for which they qualify.

Pay/Compensation


Q: How much do employees get paid?

A: Pay rates are established based upon skill sets needed and market data regarding positions. Most corporate careers, such as Sales and Marketing, are paid a competitive base salary plus variable commissions. Other corporate positions are paid a competitive base salary plus an annual incentive payment. Administrative support positions are paid on an hourly basis plus annual incentive pay.


Q: How often do you pay?

A: Administrative support positions are paid bi-weekly and other corporate positions are paid on a monthly basis.


Q: What is the process for sending/receiving pay?

A: Direct deposit to your bank account is available, and is the most common means selected by employees.


Q: Do you offer benefits?

A: Corporate level positions offer a competitive and comprehensive benefit package.


Q: How do I get reimbursed for work-related travel and business expenses?

A: Expense report forms are available online and once completed, this form, together with required receipts, is to be submitted to the Finance Department for reimbursement.

What kind of work will I be doing?


Q: What kind of work will I be doing?

A: A summarized version of the job description and required skill sets for current open positions is found by clicking on the current opening posted on Tab #3.


Q: How will my performance be reviewed/evaluated?

A: You will be measured against sales quotas and/or program objectives for sales and marketing positions. Individual performances and departmental gains against department objectives will be evaluated for all other positions.


Q: What kinds of support will I have while working or if I have questions?

A: Your manager will always be available to assist you and all support departments are there to offer support, assistance and answer questions. Senior management is also readily available to provide assistance and direction.


Q: What types of equipment will the company provide to me, or do I have to provide my own equipment?

A: If your position works remotely, the company will provide you with a lap top computer with data base access, a printer, blackberry, cell phone, office supplies and other materials. If your position works at the corporate office, all of your equipment and supply needs are provided by the company.

Training


Q: How will I be trained?

A: The Sales and Marketing units provide an on-site, formal training program plus there are periodic meetings/training programs held throughout the year. Your manager provides ongoing training and support.

Other corporate positions will receive specific orientation, training and coaching from their respective managers.

Specific training programs may be offered through external resources as well.

Work Hours


Q: What are my work hours?

A: Normal business hours are Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM. However, some positions, such as Sales or IT, may have some flexible, irregular work hours due to customer, project and/or business needs. Hourly-paid positions are paid overtime for any overtime worked.


Q: Are positions full-time or part-time?

A: All corporate positions are full-time, but some administrative support positions may be part-time. For additional information, please contact HR@languageline.com
